My boyfriend has black mold growing on his basement walls. They are cement. In the past this room was used for a bedroom. He would like to get it cleaned up and use it again, but not in the condition it is in. Please-- only serious answers.

I live in an apartment and when I came home, the toilet and bathtub were overflowed with brown water on Wednesday night. Water covered the carpeting for about 10 feet into the apartment, and outside the door. I have a infant and don't want to risk mold spore inhalation. The water was wet vac-ed from the floor that very evening. Baseboards got wet as well, but I was told that my apartment will be ready in a week. They planned to remove the carpet, but I didn't hear them mention anything about the baseboards. I was offered a new apartment, but I just moved in and don't want to move. I don't quite know what caused the overflow. How can I check and remove any remaining water to prevent mold spores?!?
We went back to that apartment yesterday and there were cuts in the carpet, but it didn't look like new carpet....and there was a large blower in the hallway.

We bought a foreclosed house. There is a mold on a carpet in the basement. We called mold expert just to make sure it is not poisonous.
