How to remove mold from concrete and walls?
We had a leak in the wall for about 2 weeks. First there was a really bad smell in one part of the house for about a week. then we found the carpet soaked in a bedroom and in the closet, removed the carpet and pad now there is mold growing in the closet. Haven't noticed any mold on the walls yet. What do I clean the concrete with before installing new carpet>
First fix the leak.
Now mix bleach and water together. Call Clorox and ask them the correct amounts.
Make sure you wear safety glasses, a dust mask, and gloves.
Cheers and good luck!

Not straight bleach. From what a mold expert told me when I had the issue is you have to mix half bleach and half water. They form a reaction to kill the mold. Straight bleack may clean some of it up but will not actually kill the mold, meaning it may return.

Bleach is the best! Kills the mold, the bleach odor will fade and wahlah! you have clean surfaces again! Caution if you have young children or any people with breathing difficulties they should not be inside during applying bleach. Open window & fan will help disperse the fumes quicker. Bye Bye MOLD!!!!

50/50 bleach and water works great and if needed a scrub brush to get it out of the concrete

I’ve had real good luck with following after a flood in the basement.
Spray everything with full strength white vinegar. That will kill the mold spores as good or better than bleach.
Let it dry and then wipe down with a 1 cup to 1 gallon mix of Borax soap. Let dry on its own so that it leaves a film of borax.. The borax will keep the mold from coming back.
